The main window of YakaMoov is a list of all the movies you want converted. Adding movies to this list, or rearranging the list is as simple as drag & drop. Prepare one batch of movies for conversion, hit start and wait (a little). It's that simple: your movies are converted.

YakaMoov will recognize all movie formats supported by QuickTime 7 (some formats may need third-party plugins*). It cleverly analyzes each movie, and warns you when the movie cannot be converted (there's no point converting QuickTime VR movies, for example).

It also takes full advantage of QuickTime's multithreaded and multiple cores optimisation.

YakaMoov has no complex compression settings and outputs video in the standard iPod movie formats. This ensures that your iPod movies will always remain compatible with current and future evolutions of the iPod.

• Standard for iPod + iTunes (640x480, H.264 @ 1500 kbps)
  This is the ideal format for watching movies on your iPod (and via the TV out) and in iTunes (or with Front Row).


• Optimized for iPod (320x240+, H.264 @ 768 kbps)
  Use this setting if you plan to watch your movies mainly on your iPod. This setting produce the smallest files.


• Optimized for TV Out (480x480+, MPEG-4 @ 2500 kbps)
  This format is recommended when you watch your movies on TV.

In order to ensure an optimum quality of reproduction, the final resolution is set as high as possible within the limits imposed by the technical constraints of the iPod while keeping the original aspect ratio of the movie.

For example a widescreen film will have a resolution of 720 by 300 pixels in "iPod for TV" format and 400 by 170 pixels in "iPod Optimized" format.

You can easily preview a movie in QuickTime Player by double-clicking it in the list.

Even if you started a conversion you can add movies to the list or rearrange it, thanks to the multithreaded implementation of YakaMoov.
